I partner, guide, and support coaches in setting a culture that lasts: clear values, strong character, and a team that holds itself "above the line."
Tactics change from season to season. Character and culture are what carry a team through wins, losses, and everything in between.
Who your athletes are becoming matters as much as how they perform. We build a coaching approach that develops integrity, resilience, and accountability on and off the field.
Culture happens whether you make it a priority or not. But as a coach, you have the power to set a culture that reinforces itself, creating the expectation of behaviors that drive your shared purpose and positive feedback loops that result in efficient, long-arc growth throughout a season.
We all know what we know and we know what we don't know. Have you created a personal support system to explore what you don't know you don't know?
The capacity for learning and growth is directly related to our trust in others in the shared purpose of personal and communal growth. Building trust always comes first.
We will work with you to explore opportunities for growth and areas of insight.
We will offer full support as you begin to integrate By Design Coaching into the culture of your team, program, or organization, creating strategies and scaffolding for successful implementation and clear benchmarks as you begin to integrate, observe, and rework.

My coaching philosophy grew from three experiences: a childhood of fiercely competitive mixed-team games with my brothers and my dad, a football culture steeped in a high expectation of excellence and tradition at Daniel Hand High School under Coach Filipone and Coach Sakula, and lifelong mentorships in nature-based connection and character-focused coaching, including Eric Becker, who builds character and deep human connection in the Hand football program. I've woven them into a pedagogy and practice that has inspired and ignited students in the science classroom, on the land, and as a coach from Connecticut to Virginia to New Mexico.
My purpose is clear: learn and reflect on your own story as a leader, lead with your authentic uniqueness, and embed character attributes into every participant relationship and every aspect of your coaching.
All sports players have coaches, mentors, guides, and supporters. How often do we provide the same guidance for our sports coaches? It is time we prioritize the same support systems for our leader coaches.
